Mock Trial is an advanced extracurricular activity for TGSA high school students. It is a competitive activity in which students simulate criminal and civil trials, playing the roles of both attorneys and witnesses. Participants develop practical courtroom skills, such as direct examination and cross-examination of witnesses, laying foundation for and introducing exhibits, and objecting to improper questions and evidence offered by the opposing party. Students also learn to argue substantive law in pretrial motions and at sidebar conferences with the presiding judge.
For the 2026–27 school year, eleven high school students will participate in an intramural competition, culminating in a civil trial before parents and the entire school community. In 2027–28, the TGSA Mock Trial Team will compete against other San Bernardino County high schools in the Constitutional Rights Foundation's California Mock Trial Competition, beginning with preliminary rounds at the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse before sitting San Bernardino County Superior Court judges. The county champion advances to the state finals.
