The Entrepreneurship Program at The Good Shepherd Academy provides an opportunity for students to learn about, and gain experience in, all that is involved in starting a business. Under the guidance of parent volunteers with relevant professional expertise, students will help design, produce, and market real commercial products or services, with net proceeds benefiting the school. The program is designed to give students direct experience with:
- Market research, product design, and pricing
- Sales, negotiation, and customer relationships with real retailers
- Basic bookkeeping, budgeting, and production logistics
- Collaboration with adults across a range of professional disciplines
The program also advances the school's mission through periodic talks by local Catholic business leaders on entrepreneurship, vocation, and the integration of faith and professional life.
